Southern Tioga School District prepares - again - to close school

In September, the Southern Tioga School District Board of Education will once again start the necessary process to close a school. The question remains - as it did last year - which school? Board members give their insight into the process in a special feature on this week's front page.

In a related story, the Liberty Area Citizens Committee talks about the progress the group has made into creating a charter school and what will happen to that depending on the board's closure vote.

What are your thoughts on this? I feel that we need our school just as much as our children do. We have so much to offer as a community and our school is at the top of that list. We as parents should fight and fight hard to keep our school. 

We need to stand up and make our voice heard. My husband and I moved here to Blossburg in 2007, and the school has always been a part of our lives even though we don't have children that attend. Without our school this town is nothing. We have to make a stand against those that are trying to take our school from us. Share your thoughts and concerns here with me. Let's fight for our school and keep our children here.

A New Beginning

Welcome to my newest Blog, Margie's Tidbits

I am going to be doing stories and other things here that will hopefully make an impact on the lives of people that live not only in my community but in other communities as well. It is my hope that all of you that read this blog can bring a difference to other lives.

I hope to share stories that are worth you reading on this blog and help you to get your story out there for all to see as well. Some of the stories that I will be sharing with all of you here will be based on my community and there will also be other issues that I address.

To some of you it may seem strange that I want to do this but if you look around you there are probably many things that are actually going on and no one is willing to talk about them or they just won't. My Blog is here to help you get that story out and help you to possibly solve a problem that is going on in your community or even your lives. With your help I can make this Blog worth your while and help get your news/stories out there for others to see.

There is light where some of you may think there isn't. Helping you make a better world for your children and grandchildren is what I want to do. If you have a story or thought to share please let me know and I will get it out there for others to see. Together we can make lives better. I will be your advocate here and help shape the lives of others to have the chance for Freedom and the American way.
