In
September, the Southern Tioga School District Board of Education will
once again start the necessary process to close a school. The
question remains - as it did last year - which school? Board members
give their insight into the process in a special feature on this
week's front page.
In
a related story, the Liberty Area Citizens Committee talks about the
progress the group has made into creating a charter school and what
will happen to that depending on the board's closure vote.
What are your thoughts on this? I feel that we need our school just as much as our children do. We have so much to offer as a community and our school is at the top of that list. We as parents should fight and fight hard to keep our school.
We need to stand up and make our voice heard. My husband and I moved here to Blossburg in 2007, and the school has always been a part of our lives even though we don't have children that attend. Without our school this town is nothing. We have to make a stand against those that are trying to take our school from us. Share your thoughts and concerns here with me. Let's fight for our school and keep our children here.
